After saving the Earth Realm from Outworld warrior Shang Tsung, reluctant warrior Kung Lao wants to resume his normal life. But his decision to spare his opponent's life forces him to make a difficult choice.

Kung Lao accepts his destiny to protect the Earth Realm from the forces of Outworld while training a new generation of warriors for Mortal Kombat.

Kung Lao, Siro and Taja must prevent Shang Tsung and the diabolical Lin Kuei warrior Sub-Zero from acquiring an ancient magical crystal that allows inner-realm travel.
