Duane, a new classmate, creates feelings of intense jealousy with tales of his amazing exploits, until Mrs. Mulligan discovers the real reason behind his boasting.

Mike's winning record as coach leaves a lot to be desired. So, his coaching job is in jeopardy. If he loses that, he'll only have his meager salary from teaching to exist on. All of this lends a perfect opportunity to teach his son Mark about choosing the right career.

It looks like Steve's buddy Polo is the favored "good bet" to win first place in the upcoming stock car race. But another team has their eye on the prize and will get it any way they can, including committing dirty deeds to win.

Adam takes an interest in an elderly neighbor, a lonely, 70-year-old widower, and both find they can contribute a great deal to each other's lives.

When flowers, notes and constant shadowing become a part of his pattern, the open admiration of Tom, a lonely young man, begins to frighten Jane Mulligan.

At first, Jane is flattered by the attention a deliveryman is giving her. But after he quits his job and begins to stalk her, flattery turns to fear and then anger.

Mike and Jane Mulligan decide that it would be fun to take their extended family camping in God's wonderful creation. Only fun turns to panic when a storm rolls in just as Jimmy and Adam can't find their way back.

Mike and Jane face a dilemma when Polly falls head over heels for a man considerably older than her, then surprises them with the news that she intends to move in with the guy.
