Three Billy Goats Gruff
A family of goats eats all the grass in their meadow and must go in search of fresh green grass. They discover a beautiful new meadow, but it's on the other side of a squelchy muddy stream. Little Billy Goat tries to cross the stream but wakes up a hungry, grumpy troll! Will the brothers make it across the bridge safely?

Jack and the Beanstalk
A mean and grumpy giant who lives in the clouds has stolen the villagers' possessions. When Jack discovers a beanstalk that reaches up to the clouds, he climbs up it to get their stolen things back. Will he manage to get away from the giant?

Ananse and the Monkeys
Ananse's family is hungry, and he needs to make some money fast so he can buy food. Ananse has a very useful skill - he can sew. He decides to make some hats to sell, but on his way to the market, some curious monkeys steal his hats while he snoozes under a tree. How will he get his hats back?

The Great Race
Many years ago, the Jade Emperor of China held a race across a great river to decide the order of the years of the zodiac. The emperor invited all the animals of the world, but only 12 chose to race.
Some of the animals are clever and crafty - some are easily distracted, but they all make it across the river, and the emperor rewards each animal by naming a year in the zodiac after each one.

The Little Fir Tree
The Little Fir Tree wants to be as useful and important as the other trees in the forest and wonders whether she might become a boat or paper for books. One day, she is dug up out of the ground and has an exciting adventure as she becomes a reusable Christmas tree!

The second season, subtitled Infamy, bears no relation to the book or first season and is mostly set in an American-run Japanese internment camp during World War II.

Shōgun
Shōgun is set in Japan in the year 1600 at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. Lord Yoshii Toranaga is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him, when a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village.
