Set in the stunning Crystal Ridge National Park, the series follows former military police officer Jodi Larsen as she returns to her hometown to serve as a criminal investigator for the National Park Police. As Jodi protects the park and its visitors from both natural and human threats, she navigates a new team, personal loss, and an unexpected partnership with Blue, a mischievous stray Labrador whose instincts prove invaluable in solving cases.

The canine, Blue, a golden Labrador Retriever is played by three brothers, River, Comet and Canyon. River is considered the "star" of the three.

The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one-third of the time. Good luck, Bill!
