Spring of 1941. The village of Elnino. In Nicholas two girls are enamored - the childhood friend of Katya and Anya, the daughter of the chairman. Nikolay is going to marry Ana. But then a quarrel broke out between the fathers of the girls. Kolya is between two fires. As a result, Katya's father is unfairly accused and arrested. The tragic conflict for all sides is interrupted with the outbreak of war.
Nicholas goes to the front, but a year later is taken prisoner. He manages to escape, and he decides to hide in his native village. However, the village is already occupied. Anyu is considered a traitor, she lives openly with the Fritz, and her father works for the Germans.
When Anya and Katya find the wounded Kolya, they have to join forces to save the man they both love. But mutual insults and old wounds make themselves felt ...
