At a meeting Pope Leo held with international journalists, NBC News' Lester Holt spent time speaking one-on-one with the Pontiff. They discussed the significance of the Pope being American and if he plans to return to the United States any time soon. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy outlined plans for a fix to the ongoing outage problems experienced by air traffic controllers for Newark Liberty Airport. NBC News' Tom Costello reports. The highly-anticipated trial of Sean Combs began today. Prosecutors said Combs used fame and power to run a criminal enterprise that included drug-fueled parties and violence. The defense admitted Combs was sometimes violent, but said the things that went on were not federal crimes. NBC News' Chloe Melas was in the courtroom. Edan Alexander, who was kidnapped by Hamas during its October 7 terror attack, was released today as part of a deal negotiated by the Trump administration. The U.S.-Israeli citizen has now been reunited with his family. NBC News' Hala Gorani reports. A group of white South Africans arrived near D.C. on a State Department-chartered plane and will be resettled as U.S. refugees. In February, President Trump granted an exception after suspending the U.S. refugee admissions program. NBC News' Andrea Mitchell has more. Pope Leo began his work as a missionary in Northern Peru in 1985 when the region was going through an economic crisis and faced internal strife. The Ark
The Ark takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race.
