An initial assessment by the Defense Intelligence Agency estimates Iran's nuclear program has been delayed by three to six months, according to three people with knowledge of the report. The White House called the assessment "flat-out wrong." NBC News' Kelly O'Donnell reports. President Trump rebuked both Israel and Iran for trading attacks before his ceasefire agreement took effect. Scorching temperatures are hitting people in some of the largest U.S. cities. In D.C., the Washington monument remains closed according to a National Parks spokesperson. NTSB investigators outlined a systematic breakdown at the FAA and Boeing they say led to the door plug of an Alaska Airlines plane flying off and leaving a gaping hole in the aircraft at 16,000 feet in January of 2024. NBC News' Tom Costello reports. The foreman of the jury that found Karen Read not guilty of murdering her boyfriend told NBC News he believes she is innocent. The 45-year-old father of three also said he would like to see the investigation into John O'Keefe's death reopened. NBC News' Emilie Ikeda reports. Florida's attorney general says a massive immigrant detention camp nicknamed "Alligator Alcatraz" will open in early July at an abandoned airfield in the Florida Everglades. It is expected to house 5,000 undocumented migrants facing deportation. Critics are worried about the conditions for migrants and the environmental impact. NBC News' Gabe Gutierrez reports. There's good news tonight in El Paso, Texas, where a toddler and sanitation worker have sparked an unlikely friendship.
