A aggressive teen is sent to the ranch after he killed some animals during a drunken rage. Michael's question about the type of environment that breeds violence is answered when Shaye is sent to the ranch for viciously attacking a number of zoo animals. Also, Pin helps a girl whose natural beauty has also brought her abuse and pain. A sexually abused girl learns not to jump to conclusions about new male acquaintances.

Saint Walt
Pin, Kevin and Michael try to help Walt, who is drinking himself to death after getting an HIV diagnosis. Pin tries to help Walt, whose HIV-positive diagnosis drives him to excessive drinking. hh A surprise attack by 2 ranch boys lands Michael in the hospital.

Straight Home
On his first day home, a ranch graduate quickly realizes that to stay clean, he must give up the people closest to him. Jesse deals with several challenges on his first day home from the ranch program, including avoiding his alcoholic mother and drunken friends, all of whom are part of a troubled past he's trying to forget. Michael
tries to help a first nations boy deal with being taken from his father.

Colour Line
Police aren't the only ones who suspect a young white supremacistranch resident at the ranch, of murdering a black youth. A Black detective tries to prove to some youth, that he still cares about the hood.

Night of the Living Ed
A broken down car and a need to stay warm has Michael and Eleanor getting closer, in more ways than one. Michael and Eleanor acknowledge their mutual attraction. Meanwhile, a stalker attracted to Eleanor spooks the ranch residents.

Labour Day
A surprise pregnancy has a young man freaking out. Michael counsels the father-to-be. Sometime the "helpers" need help as Michael and Reid discover when Rachel suffers a burnout.

Point Blank
A woman and her young son flee after news their abuser has been released from prison. Rachel tries to help a woman escape a violent husband. Meanwhile, an untrustworthy resident claims there's a gun on the ranch. Everyone is under suspicion after accusations are made that one of the ranch kids has a gun.

Daniel
Michael is called when police suspect a former ranch resident, (who was a victim of sexual abuse) in the disappearance of two girls, one of whom may die before she is found.

On the Line
Filling in for Michael on a radio talk show, Eleanor clashes with a child psychologist while defending the ranch program. Michael and a fashionable child psychologist are booked for a talk show where sparks are supposed to fly, since each is passionate about his own approach to behavioral treatment. But when Eleanor must fill in for Michael, there's contention instead.

The Good, The Bad and Eleanor
Michael brings a girl fleeing her former gang to the ranch Eleanor dreams of the old west, "Neon Rider" style.

Brothers
Two brothers escape from an abusive rural home and head for the big city. Kevin, Pin and Michael try to convince a "new" prostitute (Rosey) to leave the streets and come to the ranch.
