Clara, Carlo's first wife, disappears the day he leaves prison to go under house arrest at her daughter Alba's house. It is soon discovered that she has left in a car. Alba thinks it was a kidnapping, while Carlo is convinced that she has fled voluntarily. In the meantime, Bruno and Alice, Clara's second family, arrive in Rome from Geneva and Alice recognizes the man who took Clara away: she saw him talking to her mother two years earlier.

The case of Clara's disappearance becomes increasingly intricate and mysterious and Carlo is unable to find answers. Even when Bragadin finds photos of a woman with a suitcase on Clara's computer, taken secretly by her at Termini station, everything ends in a flop.

A priest, Don Fabio, is killed in the street by a gunshot. The priest was not loved in the neighborhood because of the center for ex-convicts he was responsible for, but the motive does not appear sufficient and the dynamics of the death are unclear. In parallel, the investigation into Clara's disappearance continues and from the nameless corpse of a dancer who seems to have had contact with her, Carlo and Malik trace it back to the Nite Owl, a club that seems to be the epicenter of pink cocaine dealing.

On a country road, the body of a girl who turns out to be obsessed with diets is found. While searching for the real cause of death, the police suspect the ex-boyfriend and then have to turn their attention to the business of weight loss products. The forensic team discovers that the blood in the farmhouse belongs to Nika and finds Clara and Pugliani's fingerprints everywhere. To continue the investigation, Carlo decides to allow Cantabella to continue the operation at the Nite Owl, even if he fears for his life.

The students of a high school report the disappearance of their teacher. The images from a surveillance camera seem to tell a story of love and jealousy but thanks to Bragadin's investigation, another truth is revealed. During the autopsy, it is discovered that the thief who stole Clara's bag has a mysterious sequence of numbers tattooed on his chest, while under his shoes there are traces of aluminum and drugs.

The body of a notary is found on a suburban street. The man seems to have been the victim of a pirate, while the autopsy reveals that the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest. In the meantime, agent Mattei, an undercover Narcotics agent, reveals to Carlo that the murdered thief was called Suleyman and was his informant. Carlo asks Ottavia to follow the policeman, because he suspects that he may be carrying out the investigation alone and not keeping him updated.

A lawyer dies opening a parcel bomb addressed to her and immediately after a man warns the police that two other people will pay for what they have done in the past. The video from the luggage storage room shows Clara picking up her suitcase and forgetting her sunglasses on the counter: Carlo and Malik think she did it on purpose to provide a lead to anyone who was on her trail, but the clue seems to lead nowhere.

Cantabella and Pugliani, accompanied by the still nameless man who waited for Clara when she left prison, arrive at an abandoned warehouse to recover the drug load. Carlo, Malik and Trevi believe they are on their trail, but they soon discover they have fallen into a trap.

Alba, her sister Alice and Federico arrive at the scene where Clara's lifeless body was found; Malik, who begins to suspect the boy, decides to investigate him. In the meantime, a young man with obvious signs of beating shows up at the police station but dies in Bragadin's arms before he can file a complaint. The investigations into the body of Pugliani's accomplice, Calzola, lead to a mysterious safety deposit box.

Meanwhile Carlo, who now knows that Suleyman had a daughter, has put Ottavia on his trail: after a series of flops, a boy leaves her a strange object resting on the scooter. Spartaco and Ottavia discover that Pugliani uses children as "mules" to transport drugs.

A young journalist is found dead under his house, just as he was investigating a ring of clandestinely organized brawls that had left a boy in a coma. While Spartaco locates the warehouse where Pugliani's men sort the pink cocaine and prepare the doses for dealing, Carlo finally manages to get in touch with Maryam, Suleyman's daughter, and takes her to safety in a family home. But it remains to be discovered where they are hiding all the other children.

Federico has disappeared after suspicions of complicity between him and Pugliani have intensified, but Carlo fears that Alba is in danger, so he asks her to stay at home, guarded by Lisi. It won't be enough and when things get worse, Malik struggles to remain lucid about Alba's fate. While Carlo is busy trying to track down Maryam's mother, the little girl runs away from the family home after learning that her father is dead. Carlo promises to find her and the other kids before the drug criminals hide them or marry them off elsewhere.
