The discovery of two homeless men tortured to death in an abandoned garden shed puts the operatives under great pressure. The high level of aggression means only one thing - they are looking for a human beast. And the closer they get to it, the more brutally murdered victims it leaves behind.

A selective school is shaken by the murder of a young teacher right in her office. Captain Ledecký manages to connect her to other cases of similarly stabbed women. While the operatives gradually uncover the identity of the serial killer, Second Lieutenant Korec learns that the next victim may be his own girlfriend.

A car with a dead man on it burns over the city, and Captain Machrák discovers that his best childhood friend is missing. To find out the truth, he must unravel a complex case that revolves around a VAT refund. The solution to the case ultimately depends on a risky action - the killers must put their agent in prison to extract information from the mafia about the whereabouts of the main witness.

A forty-year-old skeleton accidentally dug up sheds new light on a long-forgotten case. However, a now-statute-barred murder from the communist era reveals the background to the ŠTB's action. And someone clearly doesn't like it, because people start dying again because of a secret from the past.

Just before Christmas, someone shoots an old man in his own living room. A banknote of incalculable value disappears from the apartment. The detectives manage to find the suspect in record time, but something doesn't sit right with Captain Ledecký. He knows that the real thief and murderer is still at large. And he's not the only one who's willing to kill again for a piece of paper...

A series of murders shakes the autumn city, which cannot be explained for a long time. All the victims are killed with a paratrooper's knife, but there is no connection between them. Does the unpredictable killer choose his victims at random, or do the victims choose him? Exhausted and sleep-deprived homicide detectives are once again racing against time. Until they find out what drives the killer to kill, the city will continue to grow in number.
