The Breakup
Beth forces Dave and Lisa to tell everyone the truth about their relationship. Meanwhile, Catherine tries to find out when Bill was born.

The Shrink
Jimmy brings in a therapist to help cool things down when tension rises in the office. However, the therapist is an ex-boyfriend of Lisa's which makes Dave uncomfortable.

Beth's friend Sandi is hired as a temp but causes problems for Matthew and Joe. Meanwhile, Bill falls out with some security guards and finds he can't get back into the building.

Bill's Autobiography
Bill tries to write his autobiography but gets depressed when he realises he has done nothing with his life. Dave tries to get the rest of the office to cheer him up.

Negotiation
Dave promotes Matthew to the pointless job of co-ordinating producer while Lisa gets a job with MTV News and Jimmy begins a search for a new wife.

The Cane
Bill's new cane, which he carries for no particular reason, annoys Dave, who becomes the target of Bill's wrath after it's stolen.

Xmas Story
Bill is harassed by a Santa Claus who's working in the lobby, and Dave asks Mr James to reconsider his Christmas gifts to the staff after he gives everyone but Matthew a new convertible.

Station Sale
Jimmy tells the office that he is thinking of selling the station, but the staff work overtime to get him to change his mind.

Bitch Session
Dave overhears co-workers talking about him while he's under his desk. Can Mr James smooth everything out?

In Through the Out Door
Joe tries to teach Matthew about gambling. Dave has to give a speech introducing Bill at a dinner, even though he has a fear of public speaking.

Lisa gets upset when Dave gives one of her assignments to Matthew. When Beth goes through a stranger's desk, she falls in love with him despite the two never having met.

Beth hopes that her new hat is an unbeatable business opportunity, and Jimmy gives her some negotiation tips. Meanwhile, Bill's new girlfriend thinks he's British.

When Catherine is out sick, Bill puts Joe on the air in her place, expecting him to do badly. At the same time, Beth is inexplicably fascinated by Mr James' weird, nerdy nephew.

Friction escalates between Dave and Lisa over Lisa's ex-boyfriend and the three of them go to dinner. Meanwhile, Bill and Catherine up the ante with practical jokes, egged on by double agent Joe.
