Nightsleeper - Season 1

Season 1
Nightsleeper is a thriller in which a train is 'hackjacked' while travelling from Glasgow to London, and suddenly finds itself on an uncertain journey with an even less certain destination. Part fast-moving heart-in-the-mouth action-adventure and part twisty-turny whodunnit detective story, it's a roller coaster ride set across a single night where no-one is ever quite who they seem.
Leading the fight are Joe Roag, an off-duty police officer who is a passenger on the train, and Abby Aysgarth, the acting technical director at the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). To stop the train, they'll have to work out exactly who's behind this. But are they fighting a hostile state, a terrorist organisation, or organised crime? Who is the self-styled 'Driver' who seems to be one step ahead of their every solution?
As Abby and Joe - who have never met in person - try to establish a bond that will withstand everything the night throws at them, will Joe's fellow passengers help or hinder their desperate efforts? Could one of them even be involved? Who can Abby and Joe really trust?
Episodes

Episode 1
A train is taken over by cyber terrorists on a night-time journey from Glasgow to London, leaving an off-duty cop on board to team up with the acting technical director at the National Cyber Security Centre in a bid to beat the bad guys. But with no idea of who they are fighting and a few other passengers who may not be as innocent as they look, it seems they are in for a long night.

Episode 2
When the cyberattack on the rail network prevents Abby from seeing the obstacles in the sleeper's path, she realises that she's in a race against time to avert disaster.
But with Liz Draycott, the minister of transport, proving to be a less-than-ideal replacement for Joe as her onboard ally, and the so-called Driver always seeming to be one step ahead, it becomes clear that she's going to have to think outside the box to bring the train to a halt.

Episode 3
When they realise that one of the passengers may be armed and operating in league with the hackers, Joe desperately tries to work out who he can trust, whilst Abby decides to turn the tables on The Driver by making a last-minute decision to take the train off the mainline. As Joe closes in on the enemy within and Abby manages to catch the sleeper in her trap, will the police be able to get there in time?

Episode 4
With the passengers turning on each other in the aftermath of tragedy, Abby desperately attempts to rally the traumatised Joe and persuade him to take back control. But when Hud's shock attempt to stop the train his way puts everyone onboard in more peril than ever, Joe is suddenly left fighting fires on multiple fronts.

Episode 5
As Hud and Miller interrogate Abby about her past, Saj realises that this is his shot at the big time and decides to try and stop the train his way. Joe, meanwhile, must deal with the deadly aftermath of the shooting, whilst working out whether or not to follow Saj's orders or put his faith in his punch-drunk fellow passengers instead. Could retired train driver Fraser's audacious plan really work?

Episode 6
Back in charge, Abby's convinced she now knows how to stop the remaining carriages, but with Joe out of contact, both of them are running out of time. As one of the passengers makes a desperate bid for freedom and dawn breaks over the Heart of Britain's final destination, can these two very different people, who began the night as perfect strangers, come back together before the Nightsleeper reaches the end of the line?
