The murder of a hospital assistant leads the police to renowned cardiac surgeon Hart, whom they begin to suspect is the wanted serial killer Night Surgeon. Hart suffers from amnesia after a car accident, underestimates the seriousness of the situation, and is sent to pretrial detention despite the protests of his lawyer, which inevitably destroys his life.

Dr. Hart, in pretrial detention, falls to the very bottom of society, fueled by a sensationalist media that negatively influences public opinion and destroys his family. His liquidation suits the corrupt hospital director, but a new attack by the perpetrator forces the police to reassess the situation and Hart is called to perform an emergency night surgery on a key witness.

A dramatic rescue requires extraordinary decisions. Hart returns to the operating room under police supervision and performs a uniquely long open-chest CPR, during which he regains his memory and recalls the events leading up to the murder. In his quest for justice, he risks everything to prove his innocence with the help of his lawyer.

Hart's lawyer has evidence that points to the corrupt hospital management that Hart fought against. After his release, Hart tries to get his life back to normal, and despite all the suffering and the media frenzy that almost destroyed his privacy, he leads the police on the right track to the real perpetrator. But not every life can be saved.
