Nora Sand, a renowned journalist, travels home to live with her father after being suspended from the newspaper she's working for. While Nora has sworn to her editor to lie low, a young girl goes missing from a nearby town.

Nora discovers a possible suspect overlooked in the original investigation. Kurt Damtoft, the girls' former handball coach, was ruled out by the police, but Nora discovers dark secrets about his past.
