Nordisch Herb - Season 1

Season 1
Episodes

Der Schimmelreiter
While city dwellers Nora and Mimi have different experiences adjusting to their new surroundings, their first investigation is already underway: A fisherman has found a dead body in the harbor basin. It is apparently the rider of the stray, agitated gray horse that was captured near the harbor. It soon becomes clear that the man did not die of natural causes. Hinrichs wants the case solved as quickly as possible.

Wem die Stunde schlägt
Ingmar Brix, the father of Jon's girlfriend Maike, is found hanged from the bell rope in the church tower. It soon becomes clear that it was not a suicide. Neither Maike nor the pastor is suspected of the crime, even though the latter flirts with Nora during the interrogation. School principal Kluger is the focus of Jon and Nora's investigation. He is a former friend of Brix's who bought a lighthouse equipped with multiple telescopes for half a million euros. Jon pays Nora her first compliment, and the two begin to appreciate each other's qualities.

Killerbienen über Husum
Real estate agent Jakob Niehues dies of anaphylactic shock during a skydive after being stung by a honeybee. His allergy medication is empty. Several people may have had a motive for his death: his neglected housekeeper Elly, the dancer Silke, or even amateur beekeeper Hannes. Nora and Jon investigate the case.

Katzenjammer
Mr. Hu, the owner of the "Mandarin" restaurant, finds his dead son in the restaurant's basement. Jörn Fleischer becomes a suspect in the murder. He is the manager of the "Hummer" restaurant, which is on the verge of closing. Ever since the cheap Chinese restaurant opened, Fleischer has been losing more and more customers. But Inken Blume is also a suspect. The overzealous animal rights activist is determined to avenge the death of her loyal cat, "Herr Storm," by any means necessary. She even mobilizes the health department against the Chinese restaurant, which she claims is slaughtering cats. Jon and Nora skillfully separate the wheat from the chaff.

Der Puppenspieler
Museum director Professor Klaus Schücking hangs dead from ropes, draped like a marionette and dramatically staged, surrounded by his dolls at the Poppenspäler Museum in Husum. During their on-site investigation, Jon and Nora discover that the deceased had been having an affair with the married Irene Thiessen. Could it be that Thies Thiessen, who knew about his wife's affair, killed her lover out of jealousy? Or are Nora and Jon overlooking an important detail? Meanwhile, Jon is in trouble with Claas. Claas is angry because Jon handed the body over to his rival, Thorwald.

Tidenhub oder Wasser bis zum Hals
What do a missing Dutch shrimp vendor and a dead young barber have in common? At first glance, it seems that Nora and Jon are dealing with two unrelated cases. But soon, the first connections become apparent: Fatima, the colleague and lover of the deceased Mirko Jensen, becomes the focus of the investigation. Does she have anything to do with the Dutchman's disappearance? And what do the barber's last words—"Tidenhub" and "twelve past four"—mean?

Das Schlachtfest
Nora and Mimi experience their first slaughter at a farm and find themselves caught up in a very unusual investigation: the animals were being fed human flesh. The investigation focuses on inheritance disputes, modern pig farming, the financially successful Conrad Meede—who married into the family—his wife Melanie, and Carsten, Conrad's wayward brother. The first step is to determine the identity of the deceased.

Ruhe sanft
Jon is amazed by his father Claas's brand-new hearse. Has he struck gold? When Wulff Thorwald, Claas Peterson's biggest rival, is found dead by Nora in a golden coffin in her store, suspicion immediately falls on Claas. All the other evidence also seems clear-cut: Jon is forced to arrest his father—though he knows he can't be the murderer. Old Peterson's stubbornness doesn't make the situation any easier.

Frau über Bord
Claas lures Nora and Wibke to Captain Heintje Hansen's bachelor party at the "Zum alten Kutter" sailors' club with false promises. After 50 years of waiting, the old sea dog finally wants to marry his beloved Helga Wartberg. However, the celebration comes to an abrupt end when the bride-to-be abruptly breaks off the engagement in front of the assembled crew, and shortly afterward, nurse Muriel Schwarz is found dead. It quickly becomes clear: it was murder! Equally troubling: the balcony at the nursing home from which Muriel fell is right next to Rayk's father's room—and he has vanished without a trace since the crime.

Sündiges Husum
There's a big commotion in Husum. Director Ole Barstedt is found dead on the set of his new film. The movie is about the erotic adventures of Vickie Ocean—aka Frederike Mörs—a pretty girl from Husum. Several people are immediately suspected of the crime: First, there's the director's son, who, as the sole heir, stands to benefit from his father's death and immediately takes over Ole Barstedt's director's chair. But Frederike's impulsive father also has a motive—he hates his daughter's work in the adult entertainment industry. Jon and Nora investigate.

Das Wunder von Husum
The cruise ship "Edda," with a group of novice nuns on board, finds itself in distress when Captain Marten "Ahab" Drake falls overboard. Only a mysterious figure saves the ship at the last second from crashing into the quay wall. The nuns escape with nothing more than a scare, but Sister Renate is firmly convinced that the rescuer was sent in the form of Jesus Christ to save them. When Ahab is recovered from the water shortly afterward, however, it quickly becomes clear that purely earthly circumstances caused the captain's death. Detectives Nora and Jon investigate.
