Passport to Murder is a sun-kissed, blood drenched new series which records the murder of American citizens in far flung parts of the world. They went in search of adventure, but came home in a body bag. All of the murders featured in the series were premeditated. All have fascinating back stories which contrast the idealism of the victim with the dark psychology of the perpetrator.

To what extent did the fact that the victim was a foreigner – a traveller unfamiliar with local cultural norms and potential dangers – contribute to their tragic demise? How was the crime investigated and the perpetrator caught? What impact did the murder have on the tourist industry and the number of people travelling to this destination? Finally, what lessons can be learnt from the victim's sad plight?
