Leslie wants information about the slashed painting. Norman worries about his fight with Rodney and goes to Eli for advice. Allison apologizes to Ann for her reaction when she told her about her past and tells her she is causing people pain by coming back to Peyton Place. A phone call interrupts them, informing Ann her father is in critic condition. Hannah wants Peyton to tell Steven the truth about his past after he meets Brian Colby. However, Peyton tells her Brian will never tell Steven he is his father. They get into a quarrel, during which she slaps Peyton. She announces she will tell Steven the truth before Brian has the opportunity and doesn't listen to Peyton's objections. She backs out, however, when she learns Brian is dying.
