Appearing in this programme is acclaimed piper Bruce Gandy, from British Columbia in Canada; talented Scottish west coast band Fras; and James Duncan MacKenzie, a Lewis-born piper who has made his home in Glasgow.

In this episode, Allan MacDonald introduces performances from David Sheddon, Graham MacKenzie and guitarist Innes White: Simmitri, a new duo comprising of Helena Rose and John Dew; and Brittany pipe-maker Xavier Boderiou, who puts his own musical spin on the piping tradition.

Allan MacDonald presents performances from the 2018 Piping Live! festival, including Eabhal, who although only came together as a band in recent years, are developing a stellar reputation as an exceptional trad band; musical duo Scott Figgins and Scott Garden; and piper Malin Lewis.

In the final episode of the series, Allan MacDonald introduces performances from musical Breton duo Enora Morice and Constant Le Barh, who mix pipe music with the clarinet, long-established band The Tannahill Weavers, and a trio who place their spin on traditional music through live improvisation: Project Smok.
