Al Lopes l'estan embargant i el seu pare no li pot retornar els diners que ell li va deixar per plantar ceps a la masia, de manera que al pis només hi queda la televisió perquè és del David. El David està enganxat al programa de la Mari Pau Huguet i casualment estan buscant gent que està molt endeutat, de manera que assisteix al programa per explicar el cas del Lopes. Allà comença a exagerar els problemes del Lopes i acaba dient que l'Oriol, el seu pare, té una malaltia terminal molt estranya i que s'ha arruïnat per pagar els tractaments. Tothom es creu l'entrevista del David i comencen a fer donacions al Lopes per ajudar-lo a pagar els tractaments. Amb els diners, el Lopes torna a moblar el pis en gastar-se'ls en capritxos, però sobtadament els visita l'Oriol per demanar explicacions. El Lopes continua amb la mentida perquè està guanyant molt diners però el David no aguanta la pressió, de manera que confessa i preparen un pla per fer creure al Lopes que el seu pare s'ha suïcidat.
