Puede que los androides no sueñen con ovejas eléctricas, pero los tripulantes de la nave Plutón BRBNero tienen claro que les gustan los cumpleaños. Hoffman, como buen colega del androide Wollensky, decide organizarle una fiesta de aniversario de su puesta en funcionamiento con música, tarta con androide incluida y todo tipo de sustancias estupefacientes. A la mañana siguiente, nuestros héroes descubren que todos han perdido un poco los papeles durante la fiesta, aunque algunos más que otros. Un vídeo indiscreto colgado en internet muestra a dos de los tripulantes en flagrante delito, pasando el umbral de lo moralmente admisible en la ultraliberal sociedad terrestre. Ellos han saltado por encima del armario para cruzar “la última frontera”.
