Episode 1
Heat one sees the first four contestants working on a long-haired shih-tzu - one of the most popular breeds to grace British salons. After that they let their imaginations fly as they give four curly haired canines a teddy bear trim to parade on the dogwalk in front of their owners.

Episode 2
Sheridan Smith and her canine co-host Stanley open the doors of the Pooch Parlour to four more professional dog groomers out to prove their skills. First they tackle a pack of Alaskan malamutes, whose fur well and truly flies when the contestants get to work de-shedding their undercoats. They then give four fluffy puppies their first ever haircut to be revealed in front of their proud owners. Verity Hardcastle and Colin Taylor judge their efforts and decide who is going through to the next round.

Episode 3
Sheridan Smith presents as four more professional dog groomers are put to the test. First up in the Breed Makeover round are four English cocker spaniels, as the contestants try to tame the gun dogs' wig and furnishings. They are then challenged to create a tricky spiral around the coats of four frizzy-haired models, before parading them on the dogwalk, where their owners see the results for the first time. Verity Hardcastle and Colin Taylor judge their efforts and decide who is going through to the next round.

Episode 4
The cute-as-a-button Pomeranian is the breed of choice in the final heat as four groomers try to achieve the perfect pom-pom shape using just a pair of scissors.

Episode 5
The first set of quarter-finalists take on a traditional dog groom when they gently removing the dead hairs from the coat of one of the UK's oldest breeds, the Welsh terrier, before producing a very modern look for the Dogwalk that requires smiley faces, flared legs and little outfits. Plus, in a new challenge, the contestants' knowledge of crossbreeds is put to the test as they try to identify a dog's parents.

Episode 6
The final set of quarter-finalists turn some scruffy but adorable bichon frisés into beautifully shaped white clouds, then trim their dogs' coats to create an homage to a place close their hearts.

Episode 7
In the semi-final, the last four competitors groom lamb-like Bedlington terriers. The groomers must also identify the parent breeds of a number of crossbreeds.

Episode 8
The three finalists execute one of the toughest challenges in the industry – a continental clip on an elegant standard poodle.
