Olive goes off for athletic instruction while Popeye sleeps until he sees that the instructor is Bluto, and he's taking a personal interest in Olive.

Popeye resists, so Bluto uses a number of tricks: cutting the rope, burning a bridge they are crossing, using a magnet to break Popeye's climbing pick.
