In the garden of Dragshols castle, Mette and James are cooking food from the late medieval period. As a main course James is preparing boneless chicken, stuffed with dried fruits that has been marinated in mead, and arranged on a bed of various root vegetables. For dessert Mette is making bread pancakes filled with blackberries, honey, mint, and nuts. During the program Mette and James enlighten the viewers with facts about food trends, garden trends, ingredients used, and historical facts about King Christian the 3rd who ended the medieval period in Denmark by introducing the reformation in the Lord's year 1536.

In the middle of the King's Garden in front of Rosenborg castle, Mette and James prepare food from the renaissance period. For the main course they are creating a pâté from game accompanied by sour cabbage. For dessert they serve figs stuffed with a type of gingerbread and dressed with a caramel sauce. Throughout the program the two hosts delight the viewers with facts about food trends, garden trends, ingredients used, and historical facts about King Christian the 4th who is Denmark's great King of the renaissance period.

In the garden belonging to frederiksborg castle, Mette and James are making food from the Baroque era. Today they are preparing a baked zander fish with a mince made from crustacean and balls of cucumber. The dessert is comprised of confectionery accompanied by a lavender-chocolate ganache. Throughout the program the two hosts delight the viewers with facts about food trends, garden trends, ingredients used, and historical facts about King Christian the 5th, who was Denmark's second autocratic monarch, and had a crown made which today is used on coins, coat of arms, and passports.

Our hosts visit the kitchen gardens in Bernstorff parklands, located in Gentofte. Here Mette and James have composed a menu typical to the period when King Christian the 9th and Queen Louise reigned over Denmark. Today's main course consists of Chartreuse complete with turned potatoes. The dessert is a savarin in a rum syrup with apricots and plums. Throughout the program the two hosts delight the viewers with facts about food trends, garden trends, ingredients used, and historical facts about King Christian the 9th and Queen Louise, who were nicknamed all of Europe's parent in-laws.
