The return of the documentary offering an insight into life inside a British jail from the perspective of both staff and inmates, this time coming from HMP Foston Hall in Derbyshire, where more than 300 women are incarcerated for everything from non-payment of fines to murder. The opening edition focuses on the First Nights Unit, where inmates can arrive for sentences as short as just a few weeks.

The emotionally charged difficulties of being mother in prison, with staff at MP Foston Hall believing that keeping family contact is vital to reduce reoffending. Kelly challenges the family court to renew contact with her young boys, while Lexi is figuring out how to tell her young son why she is in jail.
