Season 1

Episodes

Odcinek 1
At high noon, a woman runs out of the forest under the wheels of a drunk Patejuk's bicycle and falls dead. The terrified postman recognizes her as the daughter of retired forester Szulowicz, Anna. The Augustów Forest stretches around, a silent witness to the crime. Commissioner Karol Nadzieja and his colleagues from the Augustów District Police Headquarters arrive at the scene. They begin an investigation that quickly leads them to the home of the victim's parents. There, they discover three more bodies - Anna's son and her parents. The case seems very complicated, but the prosecutor assigned to the case, Monika Pawluk, insists on focusing the investigation on Andrzej Janonis. He is Anna's husband, the only surviving member of the forester's family. Nadzieja does not share the young prosecutor's opinion. She decides to ask for help from her old friend, an investigative psychologist and profiler - Julia Wigier. She does not know that she is just starting her vacation in the Augustów Lakeland.

Odcinek 2
Although Julia came to Augustów to mend her relationship with her son Kuba, which had been damaged by divorce, she agrees to help solve the mystery of the murder of the Szułowicz family. The investigation is in full swing, but instead of solving the case, it becomes increasingly complicated. Julia examines the crime scene, her attention is drawn to the fact that Szułowicz's wife was the only one not killed by a gunshot. The police interrogate the victims' neighbors, who paint a portrait of the forester as a very conflicted man. Hope visits Janonis' car dealership. In the eyes of prosecutor Pawluk, he is the main suspect, especially when it is revealed that he is involved in smuggling and illegal trade in alcohol and cigarettes.

Odcinek 3
The information about Anna Janonis's affair and pregnancy makes Julia and Karol's investigation focus on the private life of the deceased. According to Elżbieta, on the fateful day when the crime was committed, Anna was supposed to inform her husband and parents that she wanted a divorce. This gives Janonis a very solid motive. Anna's lover, Olgierd Woliński, tries to call her again, worried. He does not understand why he has not contacted her for several days. He eavesdrops on a telephone conversation of Hanka Pietrewicz, a journalist from a local newspaper, who loudly boasts about her article about the murder of the forester's family.

Odcinek 4
The police visit the Szułowiczs' neighbors, a Polish-Dutch couple Beata and Jesse Van Dijk, owners of an agritourism farm. These are yet another neighbor whose life the forester has made miserable. He didn't like them or the summer guests who spent their vacations there. Felicja reveals the secret of the Szułowicz family to Julia. Years ago, the forester raped his neighbor, Zofia Hryszkiewiczowa, and he is the father of Fabian Hryszkiewicz. The medallion that the profiler found at the crime scene belongs to the boy. A shootout between the Border Guard and smugglers takes place at the marketplace in Sejny. One of the arrested is Robert Bielik, an employee of Janonis. During the interrogation, he gives his boss a solid alibi for the time of the murder of his family. Julia finds the truth and creates a psychological profile of the perpetrator. She wants to share her suspicions with Commissioner Nadzieja, but events accelerate and take a completely unexpected turn.

Odcinek 5
Hope is terrified by Julia's disappearance. She organizes a search, but unfortunately the tracking dogs lose track. Julia regains consciousness after the attack. She realizes that she is locked in some basement and desperately tries to get out. Although prosecutor Pawluk still insists that Janonis is the perpetrator of the murder of his family, he agrees to search the Hryszkiewiczs'. The police find a gun stolen from Mietek in their yard and arrest Fabian and his father. Karol conducts the interrogation. He is ready for anything to find out what happened to Julia. Meanwhile, Zofia Hryszkiewicz feels increasingly worried about the disappearance of her daughter Bożena. She begins the search.

Odcinek 6
At dawn, Stefan and Kuba find Julia, sore and exhausted. Thanks to the profile she has developed, the mystery of the murder in the forester's lodge has been solved. Meanwhile, the Hryszkiewiczes are increasingly concerned about Bożena's disappearance. Artur Wenet interviews Monika Pawluk. However, everything indicates that the mutual interest between the journalist and the prosecutor goes far beyond professional boundaries. At the same time, Julia tells Karol about the trauma related to her mother's death. The commissioner supports her when she discovers the mysterious contents of the file she found in her father's desk.

Odcinek 7
Tourists find a woman's body in the forest. Julia, Karol and their colleagues investigate the crime scene. The victim is horribly mutilated. Julia's attention is drawn to something in the victim's mouth. It's dirt. Later, Hryszkiewiczowa shows up at the morgue to identify the body. Meanwhile, the mood at the "U Holendra" agritourism farm is not the best. More and more misunderstandings arise between Adam and Danka. Basia, Zygmunt's wife, accidentally discovers the unknown face of her husband. The strange behavior of Artur Wenet also worries the landlady.

Odcinek 9
Visiting the politician during the election campaign causes a row at the police station. Julia and Karol, on the other hand, are late for a family dinner, preoccupied with the investigation. When they finally reach Barski's house, they find their children splashing in the lake and their grandparents in great spirits. Zofia, on the other hand, visits Felicja and together they hang up leaflets about Bożena's disappearance. In a café at the marina, Zembalski meets Hanka Pietrewicz, a journalist for a local newspaper.

Odcinek 10
The murderer contacts Julia. He also leaves a message on the window of the Hryszkiewicz house. The police come to the conclusion that it is no coincidence that the killer anticipates their every move. Danka is fed up with her husband's strange behavior and decides to leave Augustów. Zembalski drowns his sorrows in alcohol. Hanka attends the Woliński exhibition and leaves in the company of Artur Wenet. Barski regains consciousness after the operation. It turns out that the caller is a murderer who feels increasingly unpunished.
