CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers

Liam Gallagher
Jo Whiley opens the doors of BBC's Radio Theatre for a Radio 2 In Concert with the king of swagger, Liam Gallagher. After being in the spotlight for over 25 years, he releases his debut solo album As You Were.
Liam Gallagher became the embodiment of the rock 'n' roll dream, with his brother Noel, by creating Britpop band Oasis, a band who would go on to create a string of anthems to a generation of the 90s.
After a spectacular comeback at Glastonbury, the former Oasis frontman performs some new tracks, along with selection of classic tracks.

Paloma Faith
Jo Whiley has one of the biggest voices in pop performing live In Concert - Paloma Faith. She'll be performing songs from her new album 'Crybaby' as well those that you know and love. Paloma is one of two British female artists this decade to have her last three albums go double platinum in the UK, with each selling more than the last. This new album is her first since giving birth to her first child - and we can't wait to hear it live!

Deep Purple
Jo Whiley hosts one of the most unforgettable bands from the sixties, Deep Purple! The Rock n Roll hall of fame inductees will be playing their biggest hits from across the decades. The holy grail of In Rock (1970) Machine Head (1972) and Made In Japan released in 1973 catapulted the 1960s rock band Deep Purple to the top in concert grosses and album sales around the world, with track Smoke On The Water ascending to mega-status.
Ian Paice of Deep Purple says: "Deep Purple are really looking forward to performing for the BBC Radio 2's In Concert programme. It's been many years since we did something like this. But through all those years one thing has never changed. Playing live is the only way to capture the spirit of Rock n Roll music, because even 60 years after it reared its wonderful rebellious head that's what it still is! There is no safety net of the recording machine to 'fix things later', you get it right or get it wrong. For the musicians it's an adrenaline rush, concentration and invention, but most of all fun. That's why we started doing it when we were kids. We hope you have fun being on the receiving end."
Taking place in the BBC Radio Theatre, London, the series of intimate performances will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 as well as in vision via the BBC Red Button. All performances will be available on BBC iPlayer for thirty days after.
