In this programme, Cecilie Nielsen travels in the footsteps of the Danes who volunteered for the Waffen SS to fight on the side of the Nazis. Not least on the officer Per Sørensen, whom she follows from the ideological schooling in Germany to bloody and cruel battles in the swamps on the Eastern Front to the final collapse in the streets of Berlin in 1945.
