In 2016, it was 100 years since two of the largest and deadliest battles of the First World War were fought. Denmark did not participate in the war, but despite that, many thousands of Danish soldiers died in battle on both sides of the front. In two programmes, the two historians Kåre Johannesen and Cecilie Nielsen travel in the footsteps of the Danish soldiers and tell the story of the battles.
