Day 1
Four new teams take off from St. Louis with a stunning twist at the starting line. Chonta discovers her southern slavery roots. Maria sees a shocking family tree. Marcus learns Arkansas is a state, and takes part in a family dance-off. The twin sisters start a texting war they can't finish.
Day 2
Teams Red and Blue battle heavy rain and compete head to head in a building block challenge. Kaley and Kristin go back to driving school with a relative. Demetrius falls to his knees after meeting the first blood relative on his fathers side. Keith connects with his father's side of the family.
Day 3
All the teams must "smell" their way to victory competing in a blind folded challenge. A door opens, and Maria's life is changed forever. Kaley and Kristin connect with their family at a recording studio. Marcus meets his mom's brother for the first time.
Day 4
The brothers from L.A. get a geography lesson and throw pottery for the first time. All teams carefully balance their way through a challenge. Demetrius discovers another relative on his dad's side, and Maria attends a very special surprise birthday party.
Day 5
The teams show off their singing abilities. Strange paper airplanes are made to pop through a challenge. Marcus meets the person who linked him to his father. Elizabeth discovers her dad's side of the family. Team Black finds out twins run in their family.
Day 6
Immunity is on the line. A hamster-like challenge has the teams rolling in all directions. Chonta's surprised by an emotional cousin. Team Red plays hockey, Team Green camps and learns to wakeboard, and Team Black learns baseball.
Day 7
The teams' art skills are on display in a challenge. Elizabeth's emotions are tested with a close relative. The twins continue their journey and meet a key relative in the search for their dad. Marcus connects with his dad's side.
Day 8
Team Green gets off to a rough start when Marcus's dad shows up late to pick them up. While they set off toward Vegas, Team Red heads toward a relative that will help Elizabeth understand more about her maternal side.
Day 9
An audible memory challenge stumps the teams. Demetrius meets a key paternal relative. Marcus and his dad share a heartwarming discovery. A trip to Day 10 is on the line for two teams with two strikes!
Day 10
After 9 days on the road, the remaining teams test their challenge skills in the desert southwest for the Season 5 championship.

The Ministry of Time
The Ministry of Time, a newly established government department, is gathering ‘expats' from across history in an experiment to test the viability of time-travel. Commander Graham Gore (an officer on Sir John Franklin's doomed 1845 Arctic expedition) is one such figure rescued from certain death – alongside an army captain from the fields of the Somme, a plague victim from the 1600s, a widow from revolutionary France, and a soldier from the seventeenth century.
The expats are placed with 21st century liaisons, known as 'bridges', in unlikely flatshares. Gore has to learn about contemporary life from scratch: from air travel to industrial warfare, from feminism to Spotify, from cinema to indoor plumbing; and he must negotiate cohabiting with the ambitious modern woman who works as his bridge. After an awkward beginning, the pair start to find pleasure and comfort in each other's company, developing a relationship that is simultaneously tender, intense and profoundly unprofessional; and the expats, adrift in a new era, form friendships that ground and support them in the lonely 21st century, where they have outlived everyone they ever knew and loved.
When a deeper conspiracy at the Ministry begins to reveal itself, the bridge must reckon with what she does next. Will she save or sacrifice the exiled misfits she has come to care for so deeply?
