Season 2

Episodes

Golden Pizza
Golden Pizza hasn't closed for a single day in almost 30 years. Sheltered within his business, owner Andy has no clue how the world around him has changed in that time. His daughter Stephanie has grown up in the restaurant and she and her husband Chris are desperate to renovate the outdated space. Can Restaurant Takeover's chef Corbin Tomaszeski and designer Montana Burnett help Golden Pizza breathe new life into their dwindling business?

Italian Garden
Joe is too proud to change. He opened Italian Garden 15 years ago and he feels his "authentic" hot table is top notch. But with cheesy Italian paraphernalia, grotty old tiles and bland pastas and sandwiches, this space is more 90s cafeteria than "Tavola Calda". Restaurant Takeover is sending in chef Adam Hynam-Smith and designer Paula Velez to break through to "Status-Quo Joe" and make him realize his stubbornness is losing him money.

Augusto 33 (now Brookelynn's Bistro)
These twenty-something siblings are in a tug of war with their takeout joint. With a large, underutilized space and no money to furnish it, Eric and Nancy have polar opposite ideas on what it'll take to make Augusto 33 thrive. Mom Lynda is in the kitchen, equally confused – is this a bakery, an Italian restaurant or a café? Restaurant Takeover is sending in chef Corbin Tomaszeski and designer Paula Velez to knock some sense into this space.

Legends
Reza has sacrificed everything to keep Legends Bar and Eatery afloat – all for his loyal clientele of dedicated boozers who are only getting older. Legends needs Restaurant Takeover's help to bring in the hip young families and condo crowd moving to this burgeoning neighbourhood. Can chef Andrea Nicholson and designer Amanda Campbell help revitalize Reza's restaurant so that he can finally take a step back from it and reclaim his life?

Rosey's Eatery
Yusi and Sophie had made a huge profit selling a couple of their family's restaurants and they bought Rosey's with the hope that it would be a huge success. What were they thinking? Located in an industrial wasteland, this diner looks like it hasn't had a customer in years. With their family's financial freedom on the line, Yusi and Sophie need Restaurant Takeover to bring in much-needed business. Chef Andrea Nicholson and designer Montana Burnett are on the case.

Fresh Sandwich Shop
When Kaylea opened Fresh Sandwich Shop, she thought her dream of being a chef was finally coming true. Unfortunately, her business plan had serious flaws. Just 7 months in, she's out of cash, energy and inspiration. Restaurant Takeover's chef Adam Hynam-Smith and designer Amanda Campbell need to bring Kaylea's vision to life so that she can attract the business she needs to keep the restaurant alive and reignite her passion.

Lucy's Seafood
At what point does trying to keep up with the times come across as trying too hard? With a cartoon mural and tablecloths fit for a picnic, Lucy's Seafood has "family friendly" written all over it. But owner Len sees the young professionals frequenting the big box restaurants in the area and he's convinced he needs to overhaul his entire restaurant to draw in the same sexy, sophisticated crowd. Will Restaurant Takeover chef Andrea Nicholson and designer Cherie Stinson help Len stand out from the competition?

Classico Pizza & Pasta
When Sam bought Classico, it was a busy restaurant and he thought this would be a turn-key operation. Not so much. This used-and-abused Italian joint is completely missing the mark. Passionate about the industry but stressed out beyond belief, Sam makes a plea for his lifestyle: he needs Restaurant Takeover's Chef Andrea Nicholson and designer Montana Burnett to help to make Classico a success so he can have the work-life balance he's always wanted.

Duffy's Tavern (and Duffy's Diner)
Open 365 days a year, Duffy's Tavern is a second home to a giant cast of misfits and serious drinkers. Owner Harrison relishes his role as king of the roost, but desperately wants to realize his dream of owning a legitimate restaurant. Restaurant Takeover's Chef Corbin Tomaszeski and designer Cherie Stinson are making serious changes to this dive bar. Will the "King of Good Times" lose his kingdom? Or will he be able to adapt to the times and create a new space that attracts a family friendly, higher spending clientele?

Simply Thai
When Simply Thai opened ten years ago, it was the first Asian restaurant in the neighbourhood. Since then, the area's dining and nightlife scene has exploded as Simply Thai has become just like any other run-down Thai place in the city. Chef Corbin Tomaszeski and Designer Cheryl Torrenueva will try to get owner Ooy to embrace change. In a last ditch effort to save her restaurant, will Restaurant Takeover push this traditional owner too far?

Marky and Sparky's
Is there room for an outsider in this family business? A 3rd generation butcher, Frank opened his deli as a side business for his wife Mirella to run. Offering to-go soups and sandwiches, the deli goes largely overlooked by passerby's – maybe because it doesn't even have a sign! Frank feels that the deli could use a new player, in the form of BBQ expert and long-time customer Marcus. Restaurant Takeover sends in Chef Corbin Tomaszeski and designer Alison Milne to take this restaurant in a new direction. Will Mirella choose to share her dream, or lose it altogether?

The Curzon
With next to zero weekday revenue and high property costs, party-bar The Curzon faces a gloomy future. With his own money on the line, general manager JJ makes a plea to Restaurant Takeover for help with bringing in the coveted dinner crowd. Can Chef Corbin Tomaszeski and Paula Velez stop JJ's home-away-from-home from being sold?

Portugril
Churrasco is in Joe's blood: his mother and grandmother introduced him to the rich Portuguese culinary tradition that he feels is his duty to carry on in Canada. Portugril is his pride and joy and he's taken on a second full time job to keep it afloat. His daughter and restaurant manager Maria offers up the $15K of her savings in order to give Portugril the overhaul it needs. With Joe's family legacy and the livelihood of his daughter and infant granddaughter on the line, Chef Corbin Tomaszeski and designer Paula Velez will try to save his failing restaurant.
