Ida returns from a year of touring the country to face a few home-front surprises: Rhoda is divorced and Brenda is unwilling to discuss the state of her innocence.

After weeks of depressing pavement pounding, Rhoda manages to talk the owner of a rundown costume-rental company into giving her a job.

Brenda enjoys the luxury of having two boyfriends, Gary and Benny, competing for her attention until they both show up for a date on the same night.
