Episode 1
Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston embark on the first of three road trips, to show each other some of the places that shaped their lives. The pair take a trip around their home city of Liverpool, exploring the nostalgic and the new, visiting Brookside Close, and Liverpool footballer John Barnes joins them for a pie-making masterclass at a community bakery.

Episode 2
In the Midlands, Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston visit the Belgrade theatre in Coventry, where Sue worked as a young actress. They also explore Birmingham through its curry and canals, take a powerful visit to Shrewsbury Prison, where Ricky did time in the 1970s. The pair also share two of their literary passions, as Ricky recreates a scene from Pride and Prejudice.

Episode 3
In this final episode, Ricky and Sue take a tour of north Wales, remembering their childhood holidays and experiencing the best the region has to offer. They take a ride on the Ffestiniog Railway, where Sue follows in her grandfather's footsteps and drives a steam engine. Top chef Bryn Williams gives them a cookery lesson at his restaurant on Colwyn Bay, and the pair take a tour of Portmeirion.
