Caitlin is thrown into an absolute panic on the day of her English exam. After the battle lines are drawn, Amber takes desperate measures to see Charlotte. Robbie and Frankie form an unexpected alliance as Frankie sets her sights on her aunt.

When Faith knocks at Annie's door, it sets Annie off on a path that could rock the very foundations of her relationship with Alex. Can Annie save Faith and her relationship? Will the pressure get to Angus when the plan to help Kim and Bob conceive goes ahead? Alasdair is stuck when he can't pay Jules' rent, so resorts to more desperate measures.

Scarlett's lies come back to haunt her when Madonna's efforts to make a family tree bring to light a big brother she never knew she had. Will Scarlett reconnect or push her long-lost son away? Annie is determined not to let Frankie's blackmail dictate her life but will she be able to tell the ones she loves that she hurt them? Angus is unable to face up to his fears when he starts presenting worrying symptoms.

Angus is due to get the results of his brain scan but would rather live in ignorance than face his fears. Alasdair fears he has been caught out when Jules reveals she knows he has been keeping a secret. Robbie receives an indecent proposal for Stevie.

Robbie steals money from the Tall Ship till to feed his addiction and is shocked by the fallout from his actions. Angus is terrified by the prospect of brain surgery and will not listen to sense. Frankie introduces her new boyfriend to her parents, but he is not quite what they expected.

Alex and Annie work desperately to protect Frankie after Faith tells them what Rick is capable of. Cassie sees Angus acting strangely, which leads her to jump to the wrong conclusion. Pete makes it difficult for Caitlin to let him down gently. Ellie tries to improve Maggie's living situation.
