From the Ashes
After Macclesfield Town Football Club is wound up in September 2020, former Premier League star-turned-pundit Robbie Savage and local businessman Rob Smethurst attempt to build a new club from the ashes – Macclesfield FC. With no players, no staff, no league to play in and a rundown old ground, can Robbie and Rob turn Macclesfield FC into a competitive football club which the community can be proud – in the space of nine months?

Season Finale
From October 2020 to June 2021, Macclesfield FC rose from the ashes under the ownership and guidance of local businessman Rob Smethurst and former footballer Robbie Savage.
After recruiting an entire playing squad and club staff and dramatically renovating the ground, the Silkmen started the 2021/22 season in the North West Counties Premier Division.
Their challenge now is to gain promotion to the eighth tier of English football at the first attempt.
