Episode 5

Many of the rookies have now become independent - but that doesn't mean they know exactly what they're doing…
A newly independent Caity teams up with colleague Kate to patrol the streets of Aberystwyth on a busy Saturday night. They're on a mission to stop people's drinks being spiked, but soon run into trouble - and an aggressive man.
It's Sam's birthday - but before he can have his cake, he's called to a shop where a local woman has been abusing staff and the owner. Sam is determined to track the woman down before she causes any more damage or distress.
Phil and Burt set out to arrest a man who has failed to appear in court. But they soon discover that his crime is much more serious and he must be brought into custody as a top priority.
More than the usual arrests and criminal activity, Rookie Cops is a unique opportunity to look deeper into the personalities of these new officers - and to understand what drives someone to give up an established career for their dream of becoming a police officer.
At the station and at home, from their first day to their first arrest, we learn how they feel about their new careers - and about the leap of faith it took them to get here.
