The telenovela begins in 2006 with the failed marriage of Petra Jansen (Angela Roy) and her husband Thomas (Gerry Hungbauer) after he cheated on his wife with the friend of their older daughter. Since then, new relationship stories have been interwoven again and again, which take place around the fictional Lüneburg five-star hotel "Drei Könige", the associated restaurant "Carlas", the tenement house "Rosenhaus", the Albers nursery and the workplaces of the main characters in each season.In each season, numerous characters are replaced by new protagonists of all ages who are located around a female main character and, with their interpersonal entanglements as well as professional and private self-realization, provide the material for further episodes
