The Castañeda and Montiel families clash because of an accident. Juanjo—the Montiels' black sheep and Aurora's great love—is arrested, but someone else wants to marry her.

Crisanto becomes enraged with the Montiel family and sues them. Confident that they won't have the money, he demands their land in return. Aurora visits Juanjo in prison. Everyone forgets about Paloma.

They try to rape Aurora in order to manipulate Juanjo from prison. Crisanto hands over the Montiel lands to his son Leonardo. Natalia refuses to lose her vineyard.

Juanjo discovers Iván's secret hideout and wants to use it against him. Aurora lives in fear and decides to run away. Roberto is determined to win her back. The relationship between Natalia and Paco grows cold.

Juanjo risks his life to save Emilito and is shot. The police conclude that someone close to Aurora is the kidnapper. Mercedes flies into a rage at Paco and throws him out of her house.

Roberto is hiding a secret, and the police are closing in on him. The kidnappers demand a $500,000 ransom. The family hands over the money. Paco confesses to Natalia that he loves Paloma.

Things spiral out of control for Roberto. Sara discovers that he lied to her and turns him in. An alarming video surfaces. Natalia slaps Paloma, and Paco suffers Crisanto's wrath.

Roberto shoots Sara and takes Aurora away to kill her. Juanjo and Crisanto try to save her, but one of them is shot. The war between the two families comes to an end.
