Efforts have recently been made to explore the deepest parts in the forbidding hadal zone. Join us as we take an up-close look at the SHINKAI 6500, a manned submersible that is currently on land for maintenance, and get the latest research information from Dr. Asahiko Taira, the president of the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC).
