Scotland's favourite force are back battling bams and busting scams. The Bravehearts in Blue crack down on criminality all across Caledonia. Megan Squire is all set to retire, but the ace detective still manages to bang up a banger on her last day. Meanwhile, traffic cops Singh and McKirdy are hindered by accidentally losing their police car, and youth liaison officer Eleanor Hipgrave turns DJ to blast out a surprisingly popular playlist. And the Chief turns to a feathered informant to learn key intel straight from the parrot's beak.

Frenzied speculation links the Chief to the vacancy at the top of the Met Police. Miekelson insists he does not want the job, before common courtesy demands he head to London for an interview. Elsewhere, there is a promotion for Surjit Singh, leaving Hugh McKirdy wondering how you replace an irreplaceable partner, while Bobby makes an official complaint at the police station on behalf of his dog Fridge.
