Brussels 1941: " Lifeline", the evasion organisation run by a young Belgian woman known as Yvette, is successful in helping allied airmen shot down in Europe. London decides to send an RAF officer to co-ordinate activities, but the Gestapo are also sending Sturmbahnfuhrer Kessler

Sergeant on the Run
A group of evaders is caught and shot except for the nervous Sergeant Walker who falls into Kessler's hands. Rather than talk he attempts suicide, but he does not succeed

Radishes with Butter
Curtis brings money from England for the evasion lines and becomes involved with a Jewish family ... as well as with Yvette.

Child's Play
An unpublished magazine article written by a repatriated evader comes into Brandt's hands. Its details are disguised but Brandt believes he can deduce the escape route across the Pyrenees.

Second Chance
An evader, found by a bargee, does not want to be repatriated. Comfortable Swiss internment is not Lifeline's purpose. The bargee is not all he seems ... nor is Curtis's offer of help.

Growing Up
More than ' Lifeline ' is put at risk by a young Belgian boy's discovery of a wounded airman.

Lost Sheep
A new type of aircraft, a 'Mosquito', is shot down with highly secret radar equipment on board. The navigator survives and is sheltered by an expatriate Englishman who quickly finds himself forced to decide where his loyalties lie

Guilt
Curtis decides to check out a betrayal, but ' Lifeline' does not trust him.

Too Near Home
In France, Yvette is caught in a police raid and imprisoned. In Brussels her uncle, Gaston, is picked up by the Gestapo. 'Lifeline ' is without their leader and faced with collapse.

Identity in Doubt
An airman fails to convince ' Lifeline ' of his identity. In desperation he seizes Natalie as hostage.

A Question of Loyalty
The Germans succeed in infiltrating ' Lifeline ' with a Gestapo man posing as an RAF evader. Monique has fallen out with Albert and the infiltrator is attractive

Hymn to Freedom
Curtis persuades Yvette to smuggle a Belgian pro-Nazi minister to England as a propaganda coup for the Allies. But Kessler has other ideas.

Bait
A widowed English woman becomes involved with an evader and appeals to an old friend - Brandt - for help. But the airman is a German plant and ' Lifeline' is at risk.

Good Friday
Dom Pierre shelters an RAF evader in his monastery. The monks' loyalties are divided between patriotism and their faith.

Suspicions
Curtis is under suspicion. Kessler and Brandt trace him to the Cafe Candide.

Be the First Kid on Your Block to Rule the World
The Gestapo put a security ring around Brussels to trap Curtis. He has one slim chance of escaping.
