The newly-released Albert is confronted by his old Communist enemies as a collaborator. Only the Allies can save him.... but they are still on the fringes of Brussels

A new life opens for Monique .. a new identity for Kessler

Spring 1945. The Germans find time for their own retributions. Monique and Madeleine have to make the most important decisions of their lives ... the Second World War is over.
