Albert is imprisoned. Monique takes charge of the line and is confronted with a second-time evader ... an air-ace with a mind of his own.

A one-in-a-million chance brings appalling sickness that threatens the extermination of ' Lifeline's ' personnel.

London sends a tough and experienced officer to cope with the new situation. His first act is to make a deal with the Germans.

The V-weapons are the latest threat to the Allies. A convoy of ' rocket parts ' exposes Lifeline to sabotage action and Bradley makes his first mistake.

The time has come for Bradley to use his ' private army' of evaders to act positively against the V2 weapons.

The Allies enter Belgium ... fear of reprisals for their ' collaboration ' begins to haunt Lifeline ... and Albert, in prison, can do nothing about it.
