Astronauts and cosmonauts battle a life-threatening fire and tackle an out-of-control cargo ship on the Russian space station, MIR. Astronaut Chris Hadfield's rookie spacewalk takes a terrifying turn.

A deadly collision in orbit punctures the hull of Russian space station, MIR. As oxygen seeps into space, the crew's lifeboat begins to die. An astronaut becomes trapped in an airlock with only a depleted oxygen tank to survive.

During a classified mission, the crew of Space Shuttle Atlantis discovers fatal damage to the heat shield tiles on the underbelly of their ship. But no one can know that they're there.

A toxic ammonia leak endangers an entire crew; a cosmonaut narrowly survives re-entry, only to be stranded in the wilderness; a spacewalker's helmet fills with water, threatening to drown him in space.
