Mariella Frostrup finds out that her great-great grandfather William Martin Eckersley was found guilty of fraud. And Johnny Vegas discovers that both his great-great-great-great grandfather Philip and his wife Ann Haines, spent time in prison for stealing and drunkenness. He also finds out that Philip was not just a criminal but a southerner to boot.
The Pains of Neglect
In episode two, Len Goodman finds out the next chapter in the story of his great‐great uncle Henry who was jailed for attacking his father, Michelle Collins is horrified by the Dickensian conditions her ancestor experienced in a debtors prison and Daisy McAndrew follows the incredible story of her great‐great‐great‐great‐great grandmother who dodged the hangman's noose and was transported to Australia where her fortunes changed.

Ridley
Ridley follows charismatic Detective Inspector Alex Ridley, who is retiring from the police after years of dedicated service.
