After growing up in a stifled household non identical twins Ellie and Arden have their eyes opened when a local rock group, The Ice Cubes, come into the chippy where they work. Ellie is immediately smitten with lead singer Dallas, but so is her sister Arden. The pair are determined to get to know the trio in the group, guitarist/singer Dallas, bassist Tex and long haired drummer The Wolf, better.

Ellie's feelings for Dallas are growing and the pair begin writing songs together but the Wolf also has eyes for Ellie. Ellie also has problems with the fact that her family is expecting her to marry the much older but reliable Norman (who owns the chip shop where the she works) and also with the fact that Arden has ensnared Dallas for herself.

Ellie is still thinking of going ahead with her plans to marry Norman but the Wolf is still determined to make her fall for him. Dallas also realises he has fallen for Ellie and determines to break it off with Arden but she has other ideas (especially as she thinks she may be pregnant). But then the chance of a record deal sees the band heading off to London.

The wedding day of Ellie and Norman arrives just as the band return from London after managing to get a record contract. Ellis also discovers she is pregnant with Dallas's child.

Episode 5

Ellie and Arden have run away to London with the band. Dallas has reluctantly agreed to stand by Arden even though he loves Ellie (he doesn't know Ellie is pregnant). The band are due to cut a record but Dallas is struggling to come up with any lyrics until Ellie lends him a hand. Arden has decided to Dallas she is not pregnant after all until she see him kissing Ellie, she then changes her mind. Norman then tracks down Ellie to London and takes her back home to Manchester.

Arden finally tells Dallas she is not pregnant; Ellie, back home, is due to give birth, meanwhile her father Howard learns some amazing facts about Irma and The Ice Cubes have a hit single on their hands but Dallas is more interested in sorting things out with Ellis.
