Frank goes missing and turns up in Toronto, tries without success to embrace sobriety, and bends the law to protect his disability checks; Fiona falls for Steve, a handsome player with a nice car, a fat wallet, and a big secret; Ian embraces his sexuality, much to the chagrin of his brainy brother Lip; Debbie goes too far at a child's birthday party; Monica shows up with an announcement about baby Liam.

Frank and Monica rekindle their self-destructive relationship after Frank's mother returns from prison to wreak havoc; Fiona is thrown for a loop when Steve returns from Rio with a surprise; Lip makes big changes in preparation for the arrival of his and Karen's baby; Karen and Sheila clash over Karen's new husband Jody, a good-hearted but weird guy she met in Sexaholics Anonymous; Ian tries to get into West Point; Debbie prepares for the onset of puberty; Kev and Veronica contemplate starting a family.

Jimmy struggles to balance his relationship with Fiona and his obligations to Estefania; Fiona gets a corporate job; Frank completely alienates his children and then tries to win them back; Karen returns and drives a wedge between Lip and Mandy with dire consequences; Sheila and Jody attempt to parent Karen's baby; Ian falls in love with Mickey; Debbie suffers from growing pains; Carl goes to camp; Kev and V concoct an extremely unconventional way to have a baby of their own.

Fiona gets into romantic trouble with her boss/boyfriend's wildcard brother, and serious legal trouble after a party goes horribly wrong; Frank battles liver disease and reconnects with a long lost family member; Lip struggles with the realities of college life; Ian forces Mickey to confront his sexuality; Debbie and Carl both find new love; Sheila tries to adopt a Native American family; Kev and V face the reality of a large family.

Fiona gets into a surprising love triangle and experiences some character-building growing pains; Frank falls in love with a dying doctor; Lip commits himself to college life and becomes romantically involved with a mentor; Ian and Mickey struggle to manage Ian's bi-polar disorder; Sammi remains a serious thorn in everyone's side; Debbie becomes a woman in more ways than one; Carl gets in serious trouble with the law; Kev and V experience a rough patch.

The Gallaghers are finally getting their acts together and striking out on their own, but growing up could also mean growing apart. One thing's certain: nothing ever comes easy when your last name is Gallagher -- except trouble.

"Shameless" Season 8 will kick off on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Season eight finds the Gallaghers on an upswing – Frank (William H. Macy) comes out of a drug-induced haze and decides it's finally time to be a contributing member of society, while Fiona (Emmy Rossum) faces hard decisions when she discovers her success as a landlord may mean someone else's misfortune. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) struggles with unexpected sacrifices he must make to stay sober, while Ian (Cameron Monaghan) takes up a cause in hopes of getting back with Trevor. Debbie (Emma Kenney) builds her future at welding school while juggling life as a single working mom, as Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) gets creative finding tuition money after he loses his scholarship. Meanwhile, Liam (Christian Isaiah) discovers just how different the Gallaghers are from the families of his rich classmates as Frank schools him on "sticking it to the man."

This season also features new recurring guest stars Jessica Szohr as Fiona's tenant, Nessa, and Farah Tahir as Frank's new boss, Adeeb. It also welcomes back returning recurring guest stars Elliot Fletcher as Trevor, Ruby Modine as Sierra and Scott Michael Campbell as Brad. In season nine, political fervor hits the South Side, and the Gallaghers take justice into their own hands. Frank sees financial opportunity in campaigning and decides to give voice to the underrepresented South Side working man. Fiona tries to build on her success with her apartment building and takes an expensive gamble hoping to catapult herself into the upper echelon. Lip distracts himself from the challenges of sobriety by taking in Eddie's niece, Xan. Ian faces the consequences of his crimes as the Gay Jesus movement takes a destructive turn. Debbie fights for equal pay and combats harassment; and her efforts lead her to an unexpected realization. Carl sets his sights on West Point and prepares himself for cadet life. Liam must develop a new skillset to survive outside of his cushy private school walls.

Frank's exploits lead him to an old friend, Debbie rules over the Gallagher household with an iron fist, Lip navigates his relationship with Tami, Carl faces life after military school, Liam is tutored by V about black history and culture, and Kev has an identity crisis. Plus, Gallavich returns as Ian and Mickey rekindle their relationship in prison as both cellmates and lovers.

It's last call for The Gallaghers and you're invited to the party to end all parties. After a decade of dysfunction, the South Side's favorite clan is going out with the biggest bang ever. It's going to be a wild last ride, but changes are coming that will force each of them to either step up or hit the road. And while devolving may come more naturally than evolving in a family where excess never gets old, they know one thing for certain – Gallaghers may grow up, but they'll never grow apart.
