The forthcoming new series centres on the doorstep murder of a prominent local figure, a case which strikes at the heart of the Shetland Isles and its people. As Perez and his team uncover a kaleidoscope of motives for the murder, their investigation soon takes a shockingly sinister turn.

When a prominent and controversial Shetlander is shot dead on their doorstep in broad daylight, Perez rushes back from his mother's funeral to lead the investigation.

Episode 2
In the aftermath of the diving incident, the team searches for a link between the two bodies. Meanwhile, Perez must deal with the return of Donna Killick.

Episode 3
The hunt is on for Sandy's attacker, before a shocking confession causes tensions to boil over and some Islanders take justice into their own hands.

Episode 4
After the shocking events of the previous night, Perez must piece together what happened before a rampaging and vengeful Creggan finds his target.

Episode 5
Facing a dead end in the hunt for Galbraith's killer, Tosh leads Perez to the remote island of Fetlar. Donna asks Duncan for one last favour.

Episode 6
As Perez closes in on the identity of Galbraith's killer, he struggles with Duncan's secret, while Donna has one more surprise in store.

Finding a way to guide Isabella towards true happiness, Cassandra is finally able to understand and celebrate the sacrifices she chose to make for her brilliant sister, Jane.

Scarpetta follows Kay Scarpetta, Chief Medical Examiner, as she returns to Virginia and resumes her former position with complex relationships, both personal and professional – including her sister Dorothy, with plenty of grudges and secrets to uncover.
The series is based on Patricia Cornwell's literary hero, a brilliant forensic pathologist, inspired by former Virginia Chief Medical Examiner Marcella Farinelli Fierro, who uses forensic technology to solve crimes.
