Mr. Shin, a fried chicken shop owner, is known as the neighbourhood problem-solver, quietly mediating disputes between locals. One day, rookie judge Cho Pillip is unexpectedly assigned to work out of Mr. Shin's chicken shop. Neither of them is happy working with each other. Soon, they're forced to work together when Chief Judge Kim Sang-geun asks them to mediate a bizarre case involving a lawsuit over fermented shrimp paste with maggots. Their journey takes them to the small city of Gangchun, where clashing ideologies, quirky locals, and strange legal dilemmas await.

After narrowly escaping a life-threatening situation during a legal mediation, Mr. Shin begins to uncover a massive conspiracy hidden behind a group of salted seafood merchants. Curious about Mr. Shin's true identity, Pillip quietly begins to investigate him. Meanwhile, Mr. Shin takes on a new case. At the same time, a video of a man wearing a bomb vest begins to go viral.

Mr. Shin steps in as a negotiator representing the hostage-taker. Risking his life, Mr. Shin leads tense negotiations in a desperate bid to save both the hostage and the perpetrator. Meanwhile, Pillip and Officer Kim uncover the illegal ties between Yongdan City and the fertiliser factory, and urgently relay the information to Shin. However, the negotiation ultimately falls through, and a deafening explosion erupts, engulfing the site in flames.

Si-on is harassed by her old classmate Choi Yong-min while out on a delivery. Pillip steps in to protect her. Furious that his employees have been harmed, Mr. Shin takes matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, Mr. Shin and Philip uncover a deeper conspiracy, one that leads directly to City Councilman Choi Woong-sik, Choi Yong-min's father.

Mr. Shin uncovers hidden corruption involving Choi Woong-sik. To put a stop to Choi's reckless rampage, Mr. Shin declares his candidacy for the city council. However, a sudden food poisoning incident at Mr. Shin's chicken restaurant throws his campaign into an unexpected crisis. Meanwhile, Pillip relentlessly pursues evidence of a school bullying scandal involving Choi Yong-min.

On the anniversary of Jun's death, Mr. Shin visits Yun Dong-hee, who killed his son 15 years ago, in prison. There, he unexpectedly runs into Choi Cheol, the detective who was in charge of the case at the time. As Pillip delves deeper into Mr. Shin's past, he uncovers the tragic story of his son's death. Meanwhile, Kim Sang-geun asks Mr. Shin and Pillip to mediate a dispute over a house security deposit return. But in this case, both the plaintiff and the defendant seem like victims.

News breaks that Yun Dong-hee has escaped from the hospital, sending shockwaves through everyone involved. Mr. Shin and Choi Cheol each start pursuing Yun Dong-hee in their own ways. Meanwhile, during a mediation over a deposit refund lawsuit, it's revealed that the entire case was a scam orchestrated by Oh Mi-sook. Enraged by the con that used her son as a pawn, Mr. Shin is willing to go to any lengths to seek justice.

Choi Cheol visits Yun Dong-hee's psychiatrist to find clues about his escape, but soon discovers that the doctor is dead. Meanwhile, Mr. Shin learns about Yun Dong-hee's secret overseas account. At the same time, Hujin Arcade is in turmoil as speculation grows about Pillip and a mysterious woman. Watching the two getting along, Si-on is overcome by a wave of confusing emotions.

Outside Choi Cheol's operating room, Mr. Shin comes face-to-face with Lee Heo Jun for the first time, and a subtle war of nerves unfolds between them. Meanwhile, with help from Mr. Shin and Si On, Pillip struggles to resolve the issue of unpaid wages for Mo Sun Mi and his fellow trainers. They soon uncover that the true culprit behind the incident who has been embezzling funds and committing breach of trust.

Mr. Shin uses an offshore secret account to bait Yun Dong Hee. Gripped by anxiety over potentially losing his money, Yun Dong Hee begins to take the bait. Meanwhile, Ji Woo, who came to Korea without telling her mother, comes to Secret to see her mother, but suddenly, Yong Woo appears and blocks her path. Someone unexpected shows up in front of Mr. Shin.

Yun Dong Hee is captured by Mr. Shin and taken to an unknown location. For the past fifteen years, Mr. Shin has been waiting for this very day. Meanwhile, Pillip, Si On, and Cheol visit Mr. Shin's house and sense something dangerous. At that moment, Mr. Shin calls Pillip and asks him to act as his negotiator. To uncover the truth behind his son's death, Mr. Shin launches a plan driven by years of anger and sorrow.

With Si On's success in the GED exam and the news of Jang Tong Woo's marriage, the entire Hujin Arcade is buzzing with excitement. Finally, the long-awaited wedding day arrives, and everyone gathers at the venue to celebrate. However, unexpected conflict arises over the marriage arrangement, putting the ceremony on the brink of being called off. In the end, to ensure a smooth and harmonious wedding, Mr. Shin steps in to mediate.
