Shoplifters: At War with the Law - Season 1

At Weston Favell in Northampton, Cliff is alerted to a woman who is onto her second store of what appears to be a shoplifting spree, while security guard Paul takes a call about a group of women who have been seen on CCTV taking items from a high street store at West Orchards Shopping Centre in Coventry.

Jason Manford narrates an edition that trawls the archives of the soap to look back at some of the most notorious baddies to ever walk the streets of Weatherfield, featuring the likes of Richard Hillman, Charlie Stubbs, Maya Sharma and Pat Phelan.

The security personnel at Coventry's West Orchards shopping centre receive a tip-off from Birmingham that an organised criminal gang is heading their way. In Weston Favell shopping centre in Northamptonshire, security guards are under pressure when a special event brings in extra shoppers, but an elusive serial shoplifter is apprehended stealing a trolley full of goods before disappearing amongst the crowds.

The West Orchards team uncovers one of the biggest hauls in the centre's history when a man is caught with a large quantity of high value fragrances. Discovering he lives over 200 miles away, the guards suspect he is part of an organised operation. Elsewhere, the team gives a lifetime ban to a serial offender who flees after he is caught stealing sweets. Guards at Weston Favell suspect a man has concealed items on his person, while the Coventry team is on the lookout for a serial offender.

All available guards are urgently deployed when a Code 21 emergency call comes into the control room in West Orchards shopping centre in Coventry after a shoplifter runs out of a store after stealing a pair of trainers. Meanwhile, Lewis and dog handler Keith race to violent incident outside of the shopping centre after a fight breaks out inside a betting shop.

In fashionable Chelsea, a female shoplifter is compliant at first, but then she tries to do a runner. And meet the former shoplifter who now works with shopkeepers to prevent their losses.

In Newton Abbot, undercover detective Nush spots a suspicious character in the crowds. She tails the suspect into a card shop but there's a problem - the suspect has disappeared.

At West Orchards in Coventry, Paige and Cory chase a suspected thief from a new toy shop in the centre. In East London, a masked man bursts into a newsagents armed with a rounders bat.

A man is behaving suspiciously and may have a weapon. Guards Mark and Keith's number-one priority is to keep the public safe, so they put their lives on the line to corner the suspect.

A heated argument between two shoppers takes a dangerous turn, and the possibility of a weapon escalates the incident. Plus, chainsaw-wielding thieves target a convenience store.

In Newton Abbot, chief security guard Tom responds to a call from a store after pensioner has an envelope of money stolen from her bag by a woman, while in the West Orchards control room Mal spots a suspected drug user who already has a lifetime ban from the shopping centre.

In Newton Abbot, a member of staff at the town's main department store thinks they've seen someone walk past the checkout and leave with one of their expensive coats. Chief security guard Tom quickly reviews the footage, radios units on the ground and heads off in pursuit, while Vas in the town's CCTV control room starts the search from the sky.

Detectives Steve and Adam respond to a call about a theft coming in at over the £200 limit for police involvement at one of the capital's most exclusive stores. In the control room Nush spots suspicious activity and Casey and Lisa start surveillance on the ground floor. After receiving a heads up about a regular offender Lewis and Paige meet at a shopping centre, which is private property.

In Newton Abbot, Nush receives intel about two men who are acting suspiciously and she picks them up on CCTV as they enter a local store, focusing on the behaviour of one of the duo in particular. Guards Kasey and Vaz are despatched to keep eyes on them and as the duo calmly leave the shop, they set off the alarm.
