King Dashrath conducts the "Putra Kameshthi Yagna" under Sage Shringi and his three queens are given the "payas" attained thereafter. The King of Kaikeya, Ashwapati visits Ayodhya and reminds Dashrath of an old promise. Lankesh tries overpowering Lord Shiva but is shown his place and is named "Raavan" by the latter. He attains the divine weapon "Chandrahaas." The demigods approach Lord Vishnu and request Him to take birth and establish the principles of religion. Lord Ram is born as the entire kingdom of Ayodhya erupts in jubilation. Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati join the celebrations.
