Otto besøker noen av familiene han har hjulpet tidligere og ser hvordan det står til med dem nå, en god stund etter at han sist forlot dem. Gan: Otto hjalp Rita og Trond med å kle og isolere et par yttervegger, samt ga dem et nytt inngangsparti. Gjerdrum: Konfirmasjonen til sønnen var et par uker unna, og stua var full av planker. Unn-Cathrin og Anders hadde ingen reserveplan, derfor hjalp Otto dem med å fullføre stua. I Kviteseid i Telemark bor Marianne og Torbjørn, som hadde mistet all oppussingslyst, og forholdet led under dette. Otto hjalp dem med en ny gang, trapp og inngangsparti og et nytt vaskerom. På Tørrestad gård i Sandefjord bor Mirjam og Håkon, og da Otto hjalp dem var det et salig rot fordi Håkon sparte på alt mulig. Otto hjalp dem med å pusse opp andreetasjen, slik at alle fikk nye soverom.
